PM’s Correction to Answer on Cameron Slater

Published: Wed 26 Nov 2014 06:03 PM
Prime Minister John Key has made a personal explanation correcting an answer he gave to Megan Woods in Question Time.
Mr Key said in reply to whether he had contact with Cameron Slater earlier this week, he had said no as he believed the question was in regard to the Chisholm Inquiry.
However after reading the transcript, Mr Key said he realised Dr Woods was also referring to the Inspector General’s inquiry. His answer was now - No to the Chisholm Inquiry, Yes to the IGIS report as on Monday 24 November Mr Key had received an unsolicited text from Mr Slater and there was a brief exchange where he acknowledged that text.
