Mako Networks cuts Telstra security deal
Mako Networks says Australia's Telstra will sell the company's security services as part of a business broadband connection package.
Auckland-based Mako Networks specialises in providing security to protect companies from credit card fraud and similar threats. Retailers around the world use Mako's products and services.
Telstra says it will use Mako Networks services to give its customers secure Internet access, Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) compliance, content filtering and wireless failover.
While the deal is specifically with Telstra in Australia, it also allows the company to sell Mako’s products and services Telstra's global network.
The deal is an important entry for Auckland-based Mako Networks into Australia as Telstra is the dominant carrier and online business on the other side of the Tasman.
Last year Mako Networks signed a deal with Sprint, America's third largest mobile carrier and opened offices in the US.
