The Solari Report: The Oil Card with Jim Norman - Dec. 12
By Catherine Austin Fitts
The power politics of energy are in the air.
A high oil price checkmates China but puts money in Putin’s coffers. Fracking has repositioned America’s industrial base
–- but not without controversy and concern about precious water supplies. Will Europe follow suit? Increased domestic
supplies in North America and Europe will shift oil diplomacy in the Middle East.
Adoption of renewable energy is growing. The campaign is on in the U.S. to persuade university endowments to divest the
securities of fossil fuel companies. In the face of growing concern about Fukishima, numerous countries have moved to
phase out or reduce their reliance on nuclear energy.
To add to the uncertainty, the possibilities of breakthrough energy technologies continue to be considered.
This Thursday, veteran reporter and author Jim Norman will help us make sense of the shifting landscape and numerous
controversies in the world of energy.
Jim is a veteran business journalist and energy reporter. He currently writes for McGraw-Hill’s Platts Oilgram News, has
been a senior editor at Forbes and was the Houston bureau chief for BusinessWeek. Jim has authored my favorite book on
the energy markets, The Oil Card
In Money & Markets this week, I’ll discuss the latest trends in financial and commodities markets.
In Let’s Go to the Movies, I will review two documentaries that address the financial coup d’etat and bailouts:
•Hank: Five Years From the Brink, which documents Secretary of the Treasury Hank Paulson’s story of the Bush Administration bailouts; and
, a PBS documentary about the efforts of Brooksley Born (as Chairman of the Commodities Future Trading Commission) to
regulate derivatives during the Clinton Administration.

How Your Mind Creates Your Future, A Jon Rappoport Report
Life in the financial markets increasingly feels like Beckett’s masterpiece; as all eyes watch for news of the pending
US budget deal and ponder when, and if – the Federal Reserve will begin to taper its monthly bond purchases.
Thinking about cryptocurrencies from the point of view of the Federal Reserve, or a senator on the Banking Committee, or
a trader at a bank’s prop desk, cryptocurrencies such as bitcoin have a lot of advantages.
The stock market too, has seasonal cycles that have been powerful trends to follow over the long term. You have heard me
mention the fact I believe the balance of the year and into at least the first month of next should be good based upon

Just A Taste - Back to Nuts and Bolts
Get a "taste" of The Solari Report with this video excerpt from last week's report:
"Our theme tonight is, 'It's Nuts and Bolts Time.' That's because it's year end, it's the time when we think about
taxes, how our portfolio did, and our New Year's resolutions. We think about the budgets and what our strategy plans
will be whether its our businesses or practices. "
Highlights from Last Week's Report
"I’m inviting somebody to The Solari Report who I believe fits the description of a great accountant. As you know, it’s
hard to find, and if you do, treasure them forever. Patty Kemmerer is a member of Kemmerer Schooley Smith CPAs in
northern Virginia. She has a wealth of experience working with businesses, individuals, and not-for-profits. I first met
her when I was at Hamilton Securities, so I can tell you she also has a lot of experience dealing with all the
complexities of government and government contractors and the issues that they deal with."
