The House rose at 10pm interrupting the first reading debate of the Summary Offences (Possession of Hand-held Lasers) Amendment Bill.
Earlier the Conservation (Natural Heritage Protection) Bill completed its second reading on a voice vote.
The Electricity (Renewable Preference) Amendment Bill failed to complete its first reading by 61 to 59 with National, ACT and United Future opposing.
