The Government’s Extended Hours sitting on Wednesday morning has ended after progress was made on three bills.
The Appropriation (2013/14 Estimates) Bill along with the second imprest supply bill for 2013/2014 passed by 64 to 57 with National, Maori Party, ACT and Peter
Dunne in favour.
The Raukawa Claims Settlement Bill was given its first reading on a voice vote and the Subordinate Legislation (Confirmation and Validation) Bill (No 2)completed its first reading by 120 to 1 with Mana opposing.
This afternoon after Question Time and the General Debate MPs will deal with Private and Members Bills.
The first item will be the first reading debate on the Sullivan Birth Certificate Bill which requires the Registrar-General to enter the details of Diane Sullivan on the birth certificate of Rowen Sullivan
as well as the details of Doreen Margaret Shields as if an adoption order had been made under the Adoption Act 1955.
This will be followed by the third reading of the Prohibition of Gang Insignia in Government Premises Bill and the committee stage of the Gambling (Gambling Harm Reduction) Amendment Bill.
