The House rose just before 10pm interrupting a set piece debate on Crown entities.
MPs completed around 2 and a half hour of the three hour set piece debate on the performance and current operations of
Crown entities, public organisations and State Enterprises.
It was a fairly quiet evening until Labour’s Grant Robertson attacked the Government over its partial sale of Mighty
River Power.
He said a Labour government would set up Kiwi Power to purchase power and accused National of selling the SOE to their
rich mates.
This provoked an angry and animated response from Nick Smith who in turn accused Labour of economic sabotage.
