A New MP Arrives

When Parliament resumed at 2pm Carol Beaumont was sworn in as MP to replace Charles Chauvel.
Government responses to the select committee reports on the proposed budgets for the Offices of Parliament were presented and MPs passed a motion noting the 20th anniversary of the signing of the UN treaty of the rights of Children.
The Waitaha Claims Settlement Bill and the Social Security (Benefit Categories and Work Focus) Amendment Bill were reported back from select committee
