Parliament To Sit In The Morning Next Week

Parliament will sit on Wednesday and Thursday morning next week as the Government tries to work through a crowded Order Paper.
Leader of the House Gerry Brownlee said in his business statement that the Government would seek to pass the Callaghan Innovation Bill (formerly the Advanced Technology Institute Bill) and a number of first readings including the Public Finance (Fiscal Responsibility) Amendment Bill and Family Court Proceedings Reform Bill.
Wednesday would be a members’ day and with the agreement of the Business Committee the House would sit on Wednesday and Thursday Morning to progress a number of non-controversial Government bills.
On Thursday the committee stage of the Alcohol Reform Bill would be completed.

Equal Employment Opportunities Trust, Te Pūrongo-ā-Tau a te Rōpū Tiaki, Annual Report 2012 (G.57)
Mental Health Commission
Māori Language Commission, Te Taura Whiri i te Reo Māori
The Health Committee’s reports on the 2011/12 financial review of the MidCentral District Health Board and 2011/12 financial review of the Lakes District Health Board were presented.
MPs began Question Time.
