Parliament Progresses Bill, MPs Prepare For Alcohol

Non-controversial bills made progress as Parliament sat under extended hours this morning

The second readings of the Electronic Identity Verification Bill, the Identity Information Confirmation Bill, and the Legislation Bill were all completed on a voice vote.

After Question Time today, MPs will debate part two of the Alcohol Reform Bill.

This will deal with the minimum age at which alcohol can be purchased.

A vote will be held at 5.30pm with MPs voting on three options. One is that the age be retained at 18, another that it return to 20 and a third that the age be 18 in bars, but 20 in shops.
