Five Treaty Bills In One Day

Parliament passed into law five treaty settlement bills today using extended hours provisions.
This afternoon the Ngāti Pāhauwera Treaty Claims Settlement Bill and the
Ngati Porou Claims Settlement Bill both completed their third readings on a voice vote, though MPs had to sit past six pm to do it.
This morning Parliament sat at 9am to pass three other settlement bills:
Ngāti Manawa Claims Settlement Bill;
Ngāti Whare Claims Settlement Bill; and
Nga Wai o Maniapoto (Waipa River) Bill.
