Extended Hours Begin
The House moved into extended hours on Thursday evening.
The first in the order of business were the first readings of two bills taken in one debate - The Ngai Tāmanuhiri Claims Settlement Bill and the Ngāti Mākino Claims Settlement Bill.
The House will sit until 10pm tonight and if necessary sit again at 9am on Friday morning.
The business will include the following bills taking their second readings as one debate:
Ngāti Manawa and Ngāti Whare Claims Settlement Bill
Nga Wai o Maniapoto (Waipa River) Bill
Ngati Pahauwera Treaty Claims Settlement Bill
Ngati Porou Claims Settlement Bill.
Other business includes the Statutes Amendment Bill (No 2) through its second reading and all remaining stages and the first reading of the Statutes Amendment Bill (No 3).
