Product review: Shewee

After being explained to be ‘a girl who already has everything’ I was certainly surprised when I was given the
thoughtful gift of a Shewee last Christmas. At first I took it was a great laugh, but after discovering the
revolutionary ability to stand up while peeing at Rhythm and Vines last New Year’s, I’m now hooked. The ability to not
have to leave my group for long, being able to avoid the exposure associated with crouching, being capable of avoiding
the disgusting public toilets and long lines all appealed to me (no surprises there). I was able to enjoy more of the
concert by easily slipping behind a tree and emerging without anybody knowing any better, Excellent!
The road to me receiving a Shewee started in 2009, with an epic drunken rant about the inconvenience and ludicrous
nature in which woman have to ‘go about doing their businesses’ when a clean toilet wasn’t available, (Obviously my
thoughtful friend remembered this rant when looking for my Christmas present).
There are many factors which I now relish in the thought of having left behind me.....such as; the risk of losing your
drunken group of mates while waiting in an epic queue to use a toilet covered in unrecognisable liquid, and the
unladylike position crouching offers with its oh so wonderful featured bare bum and unavoidable ‘replacement’ for toilet
paper (aka the spiky leaf). I had long thought there had to be an easier, more hygienic way! All I can say is, thank God
for the Shewee! I continue to be bemused by the fact that woman are still crouching in bramble bushes and hovering over
dirty toilet seats when such a product exists.
The Shewee easily fits into your party purse, ski jacket pocket or backpack. Which means you can take it to Festivals,
the mountain, tramping, fishing...basically anywhere. The Shewee extreme even comes with a plastic case and extension
tube. Giving you absolutely no excuse to emerge from the bushes with sprayed-backed shoes! The normal Shewee comes with
a re-sealable plastic bag, so you can take it home and wash it under the sink. It’s easy to wash too, with a smooth
liquid repellent coating which encourages any liquid down the funnel and away from you! The ergonomic design ensures no
need for spiky leaves as the device is designed to ‘scoop’ up any excess liquid.
Stand up and take control!
Where can one buy these impeccable devices you ask?
You can order online at www.shewee.co.nz or they are available from RealGroovy and selected outdoor stores.
