John Key's Video for David Letterman
The National Party has posted to YouTube a video made in January 2009 by Prime Minister John Key to encourage talks show host David Letterman to visit New Zealand.
In the video, the Prime Minister gives the presenter ten humorous reasons to visit New Zealand. Key appeared on the Letterman show later that year, presenting a 'Top Ten List' with the same theme.
Key appearance has been in the news after recent revelations a company was paid to organize the appearance, despite earlier denial by Tourism NZ.
The Prime Minister's office has told Newstalk ZB the invitation video had nothing to do with Mr Key's appearance on Letterman and was not an audition.
It followed an interview with Nicole Kidman, in which Letterman said he had never visited New Zealand.
