Phil Goff on:
- Electorate "stitch ups" - Phil Twyford won't be making a deal with Winston Peters in Te Atatu.
- Winston Peters' comeback - up to people of New Zealand to decide.
- Hone Harawira's use of parliamentary funds to pay for his assistant's travel. Practice unheard of before.
- Parliamentary Oath - thinks allegiance should include loyalty to New Zealand and it's people.
- Reserve Bank intervention on NZ dollar. Goff worried about high NZ dollar Labour would broaden objectives of Reserve Bank.
- Compulsory savings - Goff believes NZ should move towards Universal Savings. Kirk Fund should have been kept in the 1970s and now country would have "hundreds of billions of dollars" to invest in it's future.
- US compromise on debt deal. US is 1/3 of global economy and any damage to it's economy would have had implications around the world, including higher interest rates for New Zealanders. "It's a great thing that they've reached a compromise"
- Won't rule in or out a compulsory savings scheme.
