Sydney; (By Syed Atiq ul Hassan, 26th of April, 2011); The death of Moin Akhtar shocked the people of Pakistan and the people from media, arts and entertainment in the subcontinent. Pakistan’s top comic writer, Answer Maqsood, who wrote for Moin Akhtar for more than 35 years, in his recent interview to Voice of Tribune Radio Show said that he has been shocked by the loss of Moin Akhtar and not sure if he could ever write again. Anwar Maqsood, ‘I have only written for Moin Akhtar and he is not with us now so I am not sure if I can write again’.
Voice of Tribune’s correspondent Mr. Z.H.Khurram - a well-known figure in the Pakistani entertainment industry and who was very close to Moin Akhtar said that the entire Pakistani media, arts and entertainment industry has been shocked by the loss of Moin Akhtar, everyone is sad and depressed. Mr. Khurram said there is no doubt the Pakistani entertainment industry will never fill the gap left by the late Moin Akhtar. Mr. Khurram said many artists could not accept the death of Moin Akhtar because he quietly and generously helped the people in need.
In the one-hour show last night (Sunday) from FM98.5 in Sydney, many artists from Pakistan remembered Moin Akhtar with their experiences with the legend Moin Akhtar. They commonly said that Moin Akhtar physically left us but he will remain with us with his unforgettable memories and amazing work.
