Tom Frewen: Parliament passes the Canterbury Earthquake Response and Recovery Bill - giving sweeping powers to speed up the recovery programme in the region. National's replacement to the Foreshore and Seabed Act - The Marine and Coastal Areas (Takutai Moana) Bill - passes it's first reading. The Land Transport (Road Safety and Other Matters) Amendment Bill is referred to the Transport and Industrial Relations Committee. ACT MP David Garrett admits to using a trick from The Day of the Jackal to obtain a false passport over 20 years ago.
