BREAKING NEWS - A busy street in downtown Wellington has been partially cordoned off following a shattered window in a high-rise government building.
Emergency services were alerted to a broken window on the tenth floor of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs And Trade on Lambton Quay shortly before 2pm.
The footpath and road outside the building is strewn with shards of glass but has since been cordoned off.
Police and fire officers are on the scene and traffic heading towards the city is being redirected down Panama St instead.
It is unclear at this time what caused the damage to the window.
