BERRYVILLE — A
candidate for county clerk filed a legal motion Friday,
saying an electronic voting machine in the Carroll County
clerk’s office here was malfunctioning and asking that the
rest of early voting be conducted at the paper ballot
booths.
Kendrick’s legal filing included an affidavit from Circuit Judge Kent Crow saying the judge voted May 4, touching the screen for Kendrick, but a check mark appeared for Correia. Crow said he thought he might have erred and he corrected it on the screen.
Ten days later, his secretary, Nadine Holland, had the same experience on the same machine, she said in her affidavit.
