The Thursday Wire Hosted By Hamish Fletcher

Coming up on the show:

12:30 - Mayor of Auckland John Banks
‘None tree hill’ might once be restored to its former glory if government discussions to give back Auckland landmarks to local iwi amount to anything. Back in 2002, Auckland Mayor John Banks said that nothing would be done with One Tree Hill until issues surrounding ownership had been cleared up, but now that mountain could be returned to Maori, Banks says that the planting of a new tree is back on the agenda. I’ll be speaking to Mr Banks at 12:30 over plans for this iconic Auckland landmark.

13:30 - Dear Science with Peter Griffin from the Science Media Centre
A regular weekly feature on the Thursday Wire, Dear Science takes you through the world of science and technology. This week Peter and I will talk about Ray Avery, the scientist and inventor awarded ‘New Zealander of the year’ as well as the British Medical Journal the Lancet finally pulling a research paper that suggests a link between the MMR vaccine and autism.

13:40 - Papercuts with Pennie (thanks to MagNation)
This week on Papercuts, Pennie reviews fashion mag ‘10’ which claims it has the cream of the crop of fashion writers and the who’s who’ of photographers. Tune in and see if bFM’s resident magazine matriarch thinks it’s worth your time.

Aucklanders can tune in at 95 on the FM dial.
