"Very glad to see the book. I suspect it should have some (very much needed) influence now against the backgound of the "evo-devo revolution" and the belated recognition of Margulis’s work." – Noam Chomsky, MIT Institute Professor and Professor of Linguistics (Emeritus)
We are greatly honored to be able to share the comments of MIT professor and beloved activist Noam Chomsky on the cover of Suzan Mazur’s book: The Altenberg 16: An Éxpose of the Evolution Industry
Suzan Mazur says she’s been fascinated by Chomsky’s thinking since the 1960s, first burning the midnight oil over his ideas on linguistics as a student.
Noam Chomsky has publicly expressed his thoughts about evolution for more than 40 years.
Chomsky’s remarks about the "Evolution Éxpose" join those of revered author and historian Roger Morris, who was once described as "that rare and precious thing in public life, a former government official who actually gave up his job on a matter of principle", i.e., he resigned from the National Security Council over the US invasion of Cambodia. Roger Morris is the author of critically acclaimed biographies of Nixon, Kissinger, Haig and the Clintons, among other masterful books.
The inimitable Sam Smith, editor of Progressive Review early on spotted the vitality of Suzan Mazur’s Altenberg 16 reports commenting several times in his online edition Undernews. Smith also first published Mazur’s now legendary piece "How Bush Got Bounced From Carlyle Board".
Douglas Valentine gave this book its first read. Valentine is the author of The Strength of the Wolf: The Secret History of America's War on Drugs, The Phoenix Program and the just-released Strength of the Pack.
Also gracing the cover are excerpts from Suzan Mazur’s interviews with Lynn Margulis, recipient of the US Presidential Medal for Science -- who has pronounced neo-Darwinism "dead", and esteemed Harvard University geneticist Richard Lewontin, who advises that "survival of the fittest" is not an acceptable way to organize human society.
