The post-referendum debate continues…A few months ago, ACT MP John Boscawen drafted a Private Member’s Bill to clarify that pesky section 59 of the Crimes Act. He talks Kim through his proposed changes, which he says will set clear statutory limits on what constitutes reasonable force, and remove the reliance on police discretion to protect parents from prosecution.
