Coming up on the 95Bfm Wire this afternoon...
12.15: Dr Virginia
Hope
The Minister of Health, Tony Ryall, has released the
findings of a board of experts and health professionals
which some are heralding (grimly, in part) as a step towards
major structural health reforms, the like of which NZ
experienced in the 1990s. Joe goes straight to the source
and speaks to one of the 'Meeting The Challenge' report's
authors.
12.40: Graeme Coleman, New Zealand Business
Council for Sustainable Development
Joe talks to Graeme
about the Council's latest report, advocating for a change
of government procurement which it says could save up to
$1.6 billion a year - and even allow for some of those tax
cuts we seem to clamour endlessly for. But how would
sustainable development work exactly, and will the
government heed their advice?
1.05: Ian Powell,
Association of Salaried Medical Specialists
Returning to
the 'Meeting the Challenge' report, we talk to one of its
critics, from the senior doctors' union. Ian Powell says the
proposals in the report, if followed, represent a clear
election promise and a return, in part, to the
1990s.
1.30: Listener Feedback
We read out listeners'
texts, emails, and calls on the Wire's interviews and
happenings.
