- Scoop Audio: Press Conference with Dr Mark Jacobs, Director of Public Health, Steve Brazier, National Co-ordinator of Pandemic Planning, Tony Ryall, Minster of Health and Stephen McKernan, Director-General of Health. 56 more people recently returned from the US and Mexico have presented with flu-like symptoms. If swab tests taken show any of the 56 have influenza A, they will then be tested for swine flu. Tamiflu goes on sale over the counter next week, as it did last year, for the normal flu season. This could cause an unwarranted rush on over-the-counter supplies. It will not be know if anyone in New Zealand actually has swine flu until test results are returned later this week.
