It’s another beautiful sunny day here in the Bay Area this Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday, so I snapped some more pix for you of the lead-up to tomorrow’s inauguration. The air is hummin!

Outside Sproul Hall on the UC Berkeley campus—MLK Jr. delivered his famous speech against the Vietnam War on May 17, 1967, from those steps—preparations are underway for a Jumbotron screen to show the events unfolding in D.C. tomorrow. It is a community event for the city of Berkeley as well as the students, who will be starting the spring semester that day.

In toney North Oakland suburb, Rockridge, a designer clothing store called Chic has a window display showing Barack and Michelle Obama dressed for an Inaugural Ball.

In the other half of the window, Barack helps move in to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave., while Malia and Sasha look delighted at the surprise for them in one of the packages.

Abraham Lincoln is front and center of the Diesel Bookstore a little further along tree-lined College Ave.

One of the Alameda County Supervisors has arranged for a big community celebration at the Oakland Arena tomorrow morning, as this public notice on all the local AC Transit buses shows.
