Audio + Images: Peters Denies Wrongdoing Suggests Conspiracy of Disinformation

Scoop Audio + Images: New Zealand First leader Winston Peters has denied any knowledge of wrongdoing concerning allegations of undisclosed political donations to his party.

At a press conference in his party's Auckland office this afternoon he said: "What is this controversy based on? Nothing. It is simply aimed at discrediting New Zealand First and its Leader."
He alluded to a conspiracy engineered by others for their own benefit. He asked journalists: "What are you left with?" and answered himself: "A campaign of innuendo, misrepresentation and character assassination promoted by some particular interests for their own purposes. These campaigns have been going on since 1991 and they have always failed. They no doubt will continue – they no doubt will fail."
