Justice Minister Annette King today announced a new organised and financial crime agency (OFCANZ) will be launched on 1 July. The agency will integrate the Serious Fraud Office into the police. SFO powers such as examination and compliance orders will be extended to organised crime, and placed under judicial oversight.
Other changes planned include expanding the range of offences where identity protection can be afforded to undercover officers in court.
