Peters Fights With Media Late February 2008

The reason people gave anonymously to political parties was because some donors have a lingering fear of being lined up and shot by communists [presumably post revolution] according to New Zealand First Leader Winston Peters in a testy exchange with journalists this afternoon.

Mr Peters began the exchange by asking himself questions about the state of honorary consuls' in Monaco. According to Mr Peters answers to himself it had not been decided if New Zealand would even have an honorary consul in Monaco. This meant finding a consul had not, as of yet, happened which also meant Mr Peters could avoid answers related to expat millionaire and wannabe consul Owen Glenn.

Mr Peters spent the rest of the press conference talking about donations to political parties namely New Zealand First and deflecting any questions about whether or nor not Mr Glenn had given money to New Zealand First.

A visual prop in the form of a sign with NO written on it aided Mr Peters in the press conference.

Near the end of the press conference Mr Peters attacked various members of the media at one stage telling a senior journalist that "you don't know what I know and I know that's a fact!"

After some banter the journalist agreed that they did indeed not know what Mr Peters knew.

Other snippets from Mr Peters included a 'get lost' and a polite request to stop asking 'asinine' questions. Mr Peters considered he had been insulted by the media and was therefore keen to dish some insults of his own out.
