Scoop was among a crowd of several hundred people in a welcoming party when the Tuhoe Hikoi over the so-called "Terror" raids arrived in Wellington at lunch time today. For an earlier photo report see… Hikoi Over Activist Raids Comes To Wellington.

Around a hundred protesters were huddled on Molesworth St outside Parliament shortly before the arrival of the Tuhoi Hikoi at twelve-thirty today.

Upon arrival, the members of the Hikoi were welcomed to the protest via an informal haka, followed shortly by all-round hongi and other greetings.

After the protest organisers were certain that all had arrived, some quick discussions took place, before the protesters made their way down Molesworth St. towards Lampton Quay.

During the march the protesters chanted slogans critical of the recent actions made by the Police under the Terrorism Suppression Act.

On Lampton Quay the protesters came to Te Puni Kokiri (the Ministry of Maori Affairs) where some members of the protest chanted "shame".
