Fashion Week: Chelsea Thorpe Presents Soft-Light Fairy Tale Theme

Chelsea Thorpe’s show began with models posed around a giant fairy tale chair in a soft light, a calm about them which persisted through her feminine and elegant show.
We had peeked a trio of her outfits at the Deutz Fashion Ambassador awards last week and been impressed, but this collection needed to be seen in more depth to realise its impact.
Tumble tressed models bore simple pieces that were never dull, each offering a little twist. An ivory chiffon short shift had ruffle treatment on front placket – up close you saw this was decoupage of a print later used. Smocking detailed a grey shift dress, and later the center back of jacket. There were jumbo shouldered puff sleeves on a purple dress, with a rolled sleeve leather cropped jacket deliciously layered over another. A standout was a gorgeous little bodice over full length chiffon dress.
Elegant and interesting – now that’s a winning combination.
