UPDATED 9:15am - Scoop News Report: The situation in Suva, Fiji is tense following uncertainty over the outcome of talks between Fiji's PM, Qarase, and the island nation's military commander, Bainimarama. FijiLive.com [1] reports that Fiji's Police Commissioner Andrew Hughes - who had indicated he had enough evidence to charge Bainimarama, on sedition charges - had left Suva for Brisbane. Also, Fiji's military commanded its soldiers to patrol Suva streets Wednesday night in a show of strength designed to warn Pacific leaders against deploying a foreign intervention force to Fiji.
