The situation in Suva, Fiji is tense following uncertainty
over the outcome of talks between Fiji's PM, Qarase, and the
island nation's military commander, Bainimarama.
FijiLive.com reports that Fiji's Police
Commissioner Andrew Hughes - who had indicated he had enough
evidence to charge Bainimarama, on sedition charges - had
left Suva for Brisbane. Also, Fiji's military commanded its
soldiers to patrol Suva streets Wednesday night in a show of
strength designed to warn Pacific leaders against deploying
a foreign intervention force to Fiji. See...
