In his report on advertising expenditure in the 2005 election funded by Parliamentary Services, the Auditor-General
helpfully supplies a decision-making flowchart used when determining the legality of particular pieces of advertising.
While this is a very fine thing, whether such a simple process can be so robust is a matter of debate... I therefore
propose the following, which, while giving much the same results, more fully reflects generally-held beliefs about the

Gambling: Casino Should Buy Lotto Ticket After Escaping Heavy Penalty
New Zealand’s gambling watchdog, the Gambling Commission, as been sharply criticised for only handing out a two-day
license suspension to the Dunedin Casino, after the gambling company was found to have allowed a problem gambler to have
gambled $6.6 million over three years. Dunedin woman Christine Keenan lost a net $400,000 during that period, having

Justice: MP Concerned At Imprisoned Christian's Fate If Sent Back To Iran -
I think the Refugee Status Appeals Authority (RSAA) displays a degree of naivety in the decision that they have made
concerning the Iranian refugee, who arrived in New Zealand in 1993, and has since converted from Islam to Christianity
and is now a practising Catholic (appeal decision 74704). I believe that, in cases of this kind, the RSAA needs to give

Associate Justice Minister Clayton Cosgrove today released the third and final discussion document on proposals to prevent money laundering and terrorist
financing. "New Zealand's stable financial system makes it attractive for international criminals to deposit funds here

News that Iceland is to begin commercial whaling after a 20-year hiatus is being greeted with dismay by Green Party

harpoon a commercial quota of 30 minke whales and 9 fin whales per year, despite an international moratorium on
