How To Defeat Terrorism?

Events in the last few weeks indicate that one objective that is paramount: we must disrupt terrorist financing and the
violence terrorists bring by cutting off their incomes from the iternational drug trade and from the international arms
trade. The effort to cut off their money by monitoring their cash transfers (e.g., the SWIFT code case) is one means,
but more must be done to completely disrupt their efforts to get more money.
Conflict breeds more conflict, so we must start there. But then we must go further. The very predictable result (in the
near future) of unchecked violence will be more terrorism, more war in weird and unusual ways.
I also think now, it would be futile for me to list many resons from my writings to protect peace and defeat terrorism
and war. More efficient, I think, is simply to produce more writing. What comes from the heart is the key.
People really want to spend more time and money on security and peace. Yet we must recognize that there are two sides to
every coin. It is not enough to condemn only war. We must fight terrorism, as well.
The question now is how to defeat chaos and hatred, death and destruction, violence and murder.
If we all focus on loving our own country, on respecting our values, and on having greater pride in the land where we
live, we can defeat terrorism and stop illegal war.
We should look to our own homes, own families, and own communities to realize how valuable and precious our own land
really is.
What Can the Media Do?
We need to write once each week - write, publish, and ensure that all subjects on peace and terrorism are covered. We
cannot let threats, from any quarter, stop us from speaking out, even from armed groups. Their propaganda and false news
must be resisted.
Write continuously to keep people aware, especially if they are afraid of the situation. Keep your fingers writing to
strive for a better world.
Work with local organizations after each effort. There is a danger to life if we do not work regularly to put forth
information. We need to promote images of good before the situation gets worse. We also need to keep track of what the
authorities are doing to deal with the situations we face.
We also need to think of children when writing. We need to support the authorities who are our first line of defense in
an emergency. They know how to shut off armed groups who have sprung up to threaten our existence.
At least every week organize a seminar and put subjects on the table for discussion. We always need to write and look
frequently into our hearts to resist the war and terrorism that will appear in our life. We need to protect peace in our
countries. Also, when writing on peace, be sure the ideas speak to the loftiest themes, so that armed groups cannot
exploit good thoughts to do evil.
We need to know how to turn the present situation into something better. Close all doors and windows to armed groups.
There is no reason for terrorism and war. To end them, though, takes not just peace groups but the forces of law and
order. Once each week we need to visit affected areas, bring back their problems, and take an action each time we go
there.
