Terrorism And War Threat Education
By Kamala Sarup
Everyone has the right to education. Education shall be directed to the full development of human personality and to the strengthening of respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms. It shall promote understanding, tolerance and friendship among all nations, racial or religious groups, and shall further the activities of the United Nations for the maintenance of peace." (Art.26 - Universal Declaration of Human Rights)
All over the world, most intelligent students are being used by so-called politicians and their future is being destroyed. Politicians have only little talk about the basic problems face by students: higher education, employment opportunities and scholarships.
All should respect the student's right of being unaffected from the armed conflict. And also, poverty remain pressing problems for rural students. Students implementation have been disrupted by the conflicts.
More than thousands years of bloody conflict has left several million schools closed, Millions schools have been shut down and 99 per cent of the total students have been affected. Arms groups have been targeting educational institutions, and if the attacks on educational institutions continue, what will be the future of the world, it is unsure?
Students are getting more frustrated and depressed due to instability. Getting education and the continuing insecurity, has led many students to flea the country.
On the other side thousands of teachers have been beaten and threatened and teachers have been deliberately killed worldwide. Thousands of teachers have been displaced. Terrorists target is the school system: keeping it closed, and thus denying the poor dependent on government schools an education.
The atmosphere of insecurity and terror ruined the world education system. When terrorism and war arises, the educational system can become strained.
Even in developing countries schools are facing serious shortage of basic infrastructures.
Now we need to focus on what the student's needs.
Education plays a vital role in the human life. If violence, corruption, poverty, and sickness, the education will makes people cunning.
And I believe, the lack of a visionary leadership is enough for a continued violence, terrorism, war and bad education system.
