Exploitation: Snazzy Footwear Giant Slammed For Ripping Off Workers -

Sportswear giant Adidas should stop back-pedalling, support human rights and deliver on its promise to insist on the reinstatement of sacked union leaders at a factory that manufactures its football boots promoted by World Cup stars David Beckham and Zinedine Zidane, says international agency Oxfam. "Adidas is now the top sportswear sponsor at the World Cup with France making the final and Germany the semis,"said Kelly Dent of Oxfam International. STATE OF IT: Labour President Faces Critics

    - As Labour moves toward celebrating its 90th birthday, insiders cite post-election debt, fears of defeat in 2008, and talk of a dwindling membership as three factors that lie at the centre of a pesty mood overhanging many party faithful. President Mike Williams corrects the critics and tells Scoop exactly how Labour intends to reform to become the party of choice for Kiwi voters. See... Members of the public are rightly concerned when unable to secure prompt Police attendance at burglaries, but are promptly nabbed for being marginally over the speed limit. There is a legitimate debate to be had about Police priority-setting. And questions to be asked about the extent to which the Police fixation with traffic offences is the result of political direction. See... www.mccully.co.nz - 7 July 2006 [1]
