Following on from a presentation by Agriculture Minister Jim Anderton about the work the Government intended to pursue in assisting snow-struck farmers the Prime Minister took questions from the press gallery for ten minutes or so.
Of interest to the assembled media today was the ongoing political troubles occurring in Timor Leste. The Prime Minister explained that New Zealand would be assisting in restoring order to Timor by sending twenty five police personnel following on from NZ's earlier military intervention.
Also touched upon was the case of the twin boys who died of head injuries in Auckland. The Prime Minister was of the opinion that all parties should be working together to help solve the problems of neglected and abused children.
