Two audio interviews from the 95bFM stable examine in detail the performance of New Zealand's security agencies and border control. The issue arose after details emerged that Rayed Mohammad Abdullah Ali - a man said to have flatted with Hani Hanjour, the pilot who flew the airliner into the Pentagon during the 911 attacks – had entered NZ without tripping the border warning cord.
95bFM Audio: Noelle McCarthy interviews the Prime Minister Helen Clark on the deportation of Rayed Mohammad Abdullah Ali. What does she have to say about lapses in our security? And should the New Zealand public be concerned, or even afraid of terror threats barking to get through NZ's door?
95bFM Audio: Jose Barbosa interviews Dr Paul Buchanan about the recent deportation of a Yemeni man. Apparently he was kicked out because he was an associate of Hani Hanjour, the pilot who flew the airliner into the Pentagon during the 911 attacks. Paul Buchanan is questioning why Ali was allowed into the country in the first place. He says the SIS was clueless about Ali.
Thanks to Noelle and Jose for the audio!
