Poem: There Is No Palestine, Israelis Say

There Is No Palestine, Israelis Say

By Genevieve Cora Fraser

On the slopes of Mt. Eival
Israeli forces kill a child
Spray clusters of homes
Rain bullets on village youth
There is no Palestine
In the South Hebron Hills
Bedouin goat herders ancient
Cave dwellers of the land
Stumble upon Israeli shells
Phosphorous explosives
Outlawed explode
Oh well
There is no Palestine
Army caterpillars
Bulldoze the land
Cut down the trees
Israeli illegal settlements
Expand to contract shrink
Sink Palestinian prospects
Close charities in Jenin
Storm Arab homes
Commandeered
For Israeli watchtowers
To eye the town
From the barrel
Of their guns
There is no Palestine
Where Israeli colonizers
Brutally attack
Never hold back
Their self-righteous
Domination of all
They behold
Palestinian loss
Is their gold
Bought and sold
On the market
Of public opinion
Israeli Occupation Forces
Launched a blitz today
Plan to stay
As dawn broke
They besieged
Helpless Palestinians
In their beds
Left for dead
Israeli ego is fed
On the corpses
Of those they damn
There is no Palestine
Golda Myer said
A land for a people
Without a land
Except for their holdings
In the Bronx, Brookline
And LA they plan
To stay duel citizens
Besieging
Occupying
Exploiting
There is no Palestine
If Israel gets its way

Holding millions of Palestinians
At bay
Incarcerated behind
Israeli checkpoints and walls
Bureaucratic shuffles and stalls
As Zionist Incorporated
Cleanses and prepares
For the Grand Opening
Of the International Tourist Hotspot
The All Israeli
HOLYLAND
Featuring the Third Temple!!
(As soon as they expunge
Arabs from Jerusalem)
