Dr Shortridge is an Australian Virologist from Queen Mary Hospital in Hong Kong. He's Head of the Emerging Pathogens Group studying the epidemiology of influenza viruses in Hong Kong.
Dr. Shortridge and his group had identified the influenza virus H5N1 in chickens in HK . This finding then lead to the control of the disease.
