Defeating Interference & Evil Intentions In Nepal

Defeating Interference And Evil Intentions In Nepal

By Bhuwan Sharma

The alliance of seven agitators have not only decided to boycott the elections but also vowed to make it unsuccessful. These statements also suggest that the collaboration between the terrorists and agitators might have already begun. It is a shame that the so-called democratic parties or the self proclaimed representatives of the Nepali people want to run the country without having to face elections. If they had any doubts regarding the conduction of the election they could have easily asked for an international monitoring body but instead they have decided to boycott it. They however believe that a referendum or an election for the constituent assembly can be easily held.

According to The Himalayan Times (Oct 24, 005), Madhav Kumar Nepal, who is currently in India, said, "My visit will focus on mustering moral support and solidarity of the Indian people and the government for the seven party alliance's movement for full democracy and peace". What I do not understand is, Nepal has not yet travelled outside of Kathmandu to muster Nepali people's support for the agitation and he thinks it is more important to gain Indian public's support than those who they claim to represent. What could be a better moral support than those given by the people one represents? However, I think he is travelling to India to ask their leaders what to do next because they have already made a complete fool out of themselves by electing to disturb and boycott elections. What would they do if the Maoists themselves agree to take part in the coming elections? The Maoists have not yet issued any statements regarding the announced elections yet.

British ambassador speaks again and still poking his nose where it really does not belong. He has again expressed his solidarity with the seven agitators who are collaborating with the terrorists. After Britain's complete failure of foreign policy in Iraq, where there are no visible signs of politics getting any better any time soon, the ambassador feels he has better advises to give to Nepal. Let us not forget, Blair not only had to lie to his own people but also supported the production of forged document and was also accused of plagiarism just so that they could go to war with Iraq. After deaths of hundreds of thousands of Iraqis and many more other Muslims he feels his ambassador can give a peaceful solution to Nepal. Listening advises on morality and ethics from him will be like asking a thief to install a new security system in your house. He is like a guest who comes to your house and tells you where your coffee table should be. However, amazingly neither England nor her ambassador has any advises to give to India regarding harbouring of terrorists and the legal implications of such ventures.

Ian Martin issued a report two weeks ago stating that the Maoists have not completely ceased their activities of terrorising and kidnapping innocent civilians. When the Maoists announced their so-called cease-fire, Martin was one of the many demanding the government to reciprocate in the same manner. Now, I wonder if he feels the same way. However, he also claimed human rights abuses from both sides and that he was not happy with them both. If you listened to him superficially he almost sounds like he is concerned about human rights and wrongs but if you look at what UN has done so far to fight for the abused and forcibly kicked out Bhutanese refugees living a measurable life here, you would learn otherwise. They might one day even say, the Bhutanese refugee situation in Nepal is Nepal's internal matter and they would not like to interfere. He also protested against the media ordinance. What he is basically saying is that, when we come to your country we do not have to abide by your rules but when you come to ours you have to abide by ours. Of course, he is not being hypocritical, it just the western style of dealing with non-westerners. This has been their long-standing tradition and they are proud of it. They will interfere and destroy and then they will claim that Nepal never had a good leadership, someone who was accountable or someone who cared about the country and the people.

When Pakistani President Musharraf was asked in a BBC interview about the terrorists' infiltration from the Pakistani side in Kashmir, he said that there was no such thing happening. However, the reporter then said that the Indian government says that there is, to which he replied, when I say it is not so you refuse to believe me but when Indians says it is so you believe them why? I think that is the problem here too. Reporters from various international and national media are reporting about Nepal without proper evidence and with questionable motives. Almost all the terrorist organizations and insurgents in this part of the world have something to do with India. India at one time or the other has supported almost all of these evil organizations. The saddest thing for Nepal however is that everyone knows about it but they are refusing to do anything about it.

I would also like to express my heartfelt condolences to the families and victims of the massive earthquake disaster in Pakistan and urge everyone to help in any way possible.
