Scoop Column: Kevin List writes that when Richard Prebble arrived in Parliament as a Labour Party MP thirty years ago he pointed out the gaps that existed between the wealthy and the poor in New Zealand. Yesterday when Mr Prebble gave his valedictory speech he mysteriously decided to leave the 'inequality of opportunity' out of his saline-soaked farewell. It's "We're Out Brothers!" At RNZ
- Staff at Radio New Zealand are stopping work this afternoon to consider their response to a breakdown in their pay
talks. The Public Service Association (PSA) represents many RNZ staff, including journalists, librarians, technicians,
administration and clerical workers. Together with the Engineering, Printing and Manufacturing Union, the PSA has been
seeking to negotiate a new collective employment agreement for the last 3 months. PSA Assistant Secretary Jeff Osborne
said members want a fair pay offer which reflects the work they have done in recent years to build Radio New Zealand’s

whose job is to out the revolutionary figure from his Cuban presidency. Rice said the coordinator's job is "to
accelerate the demise of Castro's tyranny, President Bush created the Commission for Assistance to a Free Cuba. And last
year, that Commission proposed a comprehensive strategy to prepare for a peaceful transition to democracy in Cuba. With

Polynesia Blue Air Deal Causes Concerns For South Pacific Governments

Goff Signs ASEAN Treaty In Laos
- New Zealand today formally acceded to the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation (TAC) in Southeast Asia, with Foreign
Minister Phil Goff signing the treaty in Vientiane, Laos. "New Zealand’s accession follows Cabinet approval and
endorsement by Parliament’s Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade Selection Committee after careful study of the treaty
