After September 11, The World Has Changed

Now Bush and his advisors are fighting against terrorism.
My priorities are more similar to those of the Democratic Party, although I favor the fight against radical terrorism. Terrorists struck Americans in foreign countries several times. I think Iran at US embassy in 1976 might have been the first one. Then there was a Lebanon attack in the 1980s, etc. Maybe a total of 6 to 8 times. In the US there were 2 attacks: World Trade Towers in 1993 and the second at same place on 9/11/2000.
Radical terrorists caused American deaths in the Middle East since 1983 when they bombed the marine barracks in Lebanon. The wars being waged in Afghanistan and Iraq are the immediate objectives of this war against radical terrorism.
In my opinion, US need to wage war wherever terrorists are concentrated in large numbers. Although there may not have been many terrorists in Iraq before the U.S. made war there many more terrorists have since concentrated in that area.
George W. Bush also has expressed the idea of spreading democracies into the Middle East. That is a much more difficult task.
Memory Of September 11
It was September 11, when till then unknown terrorists attacked the US, killing thousands of innocent people and causing great physical and mental damage among the people there. US President George W. Bush, wiping tears from his eyes, said: "September 11 was not the beginning of global terror, but it was the beginning of the world's concerted response.
History will know that day not only as a day of tragedy, but as a day of decision - when the civilized world was stirred to anger and to action. And the terrorists will remember September 11 as the day their reckoning began.
After September 11, the world has changed. People from terrorized areas around the world began to think that if terrorists can attack the US, then how can we be safe too?
Bush said, "This enemy attacked not just our people, but all freedom-loving people everywhere in the world. The United States of America will use all our resources to conquer this enemy. We will rally the world. We will be patient, we will be focused, and we will be steadfast in our determination.
After the terrorist attack on the US, television networks went gave 24-hour news coverage. The White House and the U.S. military, particularly the Air Force, took precautions throughout the day to see that Air Force one was protected in its long flight with fighter escorts. When Air Force One arrived in Washington on Tuesday evening, it was escorted by two F-15 fighters and one F-16 fighter. Back in Washington the Secret Service implemented security checks on the streets near the White House and deployed snipers atop nearby buildings. A helicopter gunship was seen patrolling the airspace between the White House and Pentagon - an area that includes the National Mall.
The attack followed the catastrophic destruction of lower Manhattan's World Trade Center towers, both of which were struck by hijacked commercial aircraft. Thousands were feared dead in both locations. Secretary of State Colin Powell became the first senior U.S. official to publicly identify bin Laden as a suspect for the airplane attacks, which crumbled the 110-story World Trade Center towers and left 200 people either killed or unaccounted for at the Pentagon. Osama bin Laden is linked to many other organizations in different countries. There are thousands of these terrorists in more than 60 countries. They are recruited from their own nations and neighborhoods and brought to camps in places like Afghanistan, where they are trained in the tactics of terror.
Defense officials, sent military aircraft into the skies over Washington D.C. and seven other cities. Outside hospitals, desperate people clutching pictures of friends and loved ones gathered in hopes of locating some of those still missing. Buildings across the city were heavily guarded by security staff.
Tearful New Yorkers clutching pictures of missing friends and relatives roamed the streets.
US Role On Peace
US has been helping professionals, peacemakers and individuals to undertake difficult task of bringing peace to troubled countries around the world.
Widespread starvation and political powerlessness add to global insecurity terrorist organization are increasing. The arms trade makes weapons more available to terrorists, drug traffickers and other violent factions around the world.
The level of arms currently in circulation has greatly surpassed any cases the availability of small arms is fueling local conflicts.
The struggle to combat terrorism is not a simple or easy one. We all must work together and educate people and children.
World suffers from ongoing terrorism and tensions. The social, political outlook and attitude towards poor have made poor people helpless. There are both social and economic problems which have contributed to the upward trend of terrorism. Lack of education, awareness, and opportunities have contributed to the rise of terrorism in developing countries including in Nepal.
At present, violence, murder, terrorism and bank rubbery are some ugly realities which have been plaguing civil societies. While in one hand terrorism is being difficult to control, on the other hand, poverty is on the rise. Similarly children and women are victims of terrorism. Extreme poverty has forced young people into terrorism. It is said that due to poverty and starvation, villagers are forced into terrorism in order to survive.
US Policy makers and program planners who are serious about a commitment to improving the situation of peace in the developing world must begin efforts to understand these issues. US Government should eradicate the destruction and threats of violence.
We should remember that until the eliminates the poverty, overpopulation, national economic decline, fear, deprivation, people's ignorance, terrorism will remain. The absolute poverty in which the world's approximately, one fifth of the population live are forced to eke out their living through terrorism as they have no options other than that. So toward eliminating the condition that sustain terrorism, US should work between the government. It is not easy to bring peace in the conflict areas. If there is a regional conflict that can spread to the sub-region.
US must work for the South Asian region, especially to Nepal, which has been hit by a Maoist war. US must expand its role and program in the south Asian countries including Nepal. Nepal needs training, educational program on peace and financial assistance to create peace programs for youth through out the country.
Now, many Nepalese want peace at any price. We don't know how high the price was that we have to pay for the Maoist's peace?. We Nepali people want peace.
