SCOOP SEEKS OFFICE TO RENT ****
Scoop's Wellington HQ staff are in the market for new
accommodation. Ideally we would like an office or office
share somewhere near Parliament i.e. either in Thorndon or
the Bowen St end of the Lambton downtown precinct. If you
have some space to rent, know of some that is available, or
just know of a particularly helpful person to ask please
email editor@scoop.co.nz with details. (NOTE: Thanks to
those who have already sent in some tips... we appreciate
it...)

Meningococcal
Gold Rush - 2nd Ed.
Following publication
on Scoop.co.nz of Barbara Sumner Burstyn and Ron Law’s
report, Investigation: The Meningococcal Gold Rush [1]
- a report into the flawed science and bad policy of the
MeNZB™ vaccine - the Ministry of Health declined to respond
publicly. Instead the Ministry response was a private
14-page document sent to a number of medical practitioners
and public health professionals. Today Barbara Sumner
Burstyn and Ron Law respond in detail to the Ministry's
critique of their research. See..

Police Consider Whether Double-Homicide Was Related To Pokey
Win
- The identities of the two elderly victims of the weekend's homicide in Feilding have been confirmed by Police. They are: Edward (Ted) Henry James Ferguson, 73 and Margaret Teresa Waldin, 76. Detective Senior Sergeant Craig Sheridan said the public response has so far been almost overwhelming with the number of people coming forward with information. See... New Approach Needed For Education Saving
- There was a time when students young and old basked in the benefits of a free education. In those days, 'free' meant free and for university students, extras like payments for getting a Bursary meant a night on the town, or a game of poker with the flatmates. See... First Round Of Lebanon's Elections See Hariri's Son Take
Lead
- Scoop Link: Al Jazeera reports
official results show Saad al-Hariri's bloc grabbing all 19
seats of the capital Beirut in the 128-member Lebanese
assembly in Sunday's vote. Many observers expect the
four-stage polls to sweep the anti-Syrian opposition to
power, even though the main alliance has splintered. The
elections will be held on three consecutive Sundays to fill
all 128 seats in the legislature. See... Lebanon:
