1.45 In Cuba recently the unthinkable happened; a group of dissidents gathered, bringing together small dissident groups around Cuba. Their aim was to elect 36 officers to lead a group 'the Assembly to Promote Civil Society' that would stand in opposition to Fidel. While the government's response was comparably soft – it did cause concern in the EU. Dr O'Meagher from the Latin American Studies Department at University of Auckland is joining us to discuss what it could all possibly mean.
