Scoop To Provide Extensive Coverage of Budget 2005

By The Scoop Media team

Scoop Media will be providing extensive coverage throughout today on Finance Minister Michael Cullen's Budget 2005. Scoop co-editor Alastair Thompson and chief reporter Kevin List will be analyzing the detail and fine-print from within the Government's lock-up from mid-morning until early afternoon (May 19 2005).

Scoop will be briefed by Treasury officials on the Budget from 11:30am. Michael Cullen and Associate Finance Minister Trevor Mallard will be available for questions from our reporters from midday to 12:45pm.

Scoop and other journalists will be kept under strict lock and key until 2pm when Dr Cullen is expected to read his Budget in Parliament. A rolling embargo will exist on each area of the Budget until Dr Cullen has read each respective section out to the Parliament.

Meanwhile, Scoop's co-editor Selwyn Manning and reporter Lyndon Hood will be providing you with up-to-the-minute raw news announcements and statements as they are released.

Scoop will also be providing a full reaction account to the budget from other political parties, leaders, commentators, businesses, and state sector groups.

Also, at mid-afternoon, special analysis from Scoop's Alastair Thompson will examine what this Budget means for you and the nation. Alastair's reportage will continue with a full-detailed account later this evening.
