Feedback: Bias Is Showing On Arab Tsunami Story

Feedback: Your Bias Is Showing On Arab Tsunami Story

Your bias is showing or perhaps you need to widen your sources.

I refer to the article "Tsunami Political Victims: how it swamped Al Qaeda" by PG Buchanan.

I live in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates and I can assure you that there have been huge efforts in the Gulf States to raise money and goods to send to the tsunami areas. In Saudi Arabia $85 million was raised in a charity show, $5 million in a similar effort in Dubai. These are some examples of what has been reported here. Perhaps these news items are ignored in New Zealand. The government of this country has also sent substantial assistance.

It is bad enough that you published this biased article without comment but it is very misleading that you gave it the headline 'Why Arab Nations are absent from tsunami relief effort'. In my opinion it wasn't at all the main point of the writer.

Generally I find your site very informative and I enjoy the discussion. But this one is a long way from the facts of the situation.

Sincerely

Catherine Hill - Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.small>
