The death toll from the Tsunami caused by the huge richter 9.0 earthquake off the coast of Acheh / Sumatra has as of now passed 12000. As can be seen in the following image and list of quakes the massive quake that started this swarm off is far from the only large earthquake to hit the region in the past 24 hours. Over a geographic area approximately the size of New Zealand there have been 19 relatively large quakes in the space of a little over 24 hours.
