Quite often when I hear the phrase "political correctness" bandied around, blamed for the moral wasteland and made to mean all manner of things, I think of an essay in Metro magazine in 1996 by the late Andrew Heal. As you would expect of Andrew's work, it was thoughtful, gently humorous and elegantly written. I decided that it could do with another airing and, by the kind permission of Metro's editor, Nicola Legat, we re-publish it today on Public Address.
