I was at the Hikoi. I still can't deciding whether I was participating, watching, or just practicing with my digital
camera. I didn't do any marching as such. I can tell you that what bought me out on that alarmingly windy lunchtime was
the strong sense that it would be a huge event which I would kick myself if I missed. I wasn't disappointed.

As part of the play I'm in this week, it's been my task to seek out old newspapers from the time and place - Australia,
1960 - the play is set. Unable to find actual, real Australian newspapers, I've had to settle for copies of The Weekly
News, a Christchurch-based paper. One piece caught my eye:
