Activist Plan Australian Liberal Website Attack
Freedom From Nauru - Electronic Sit-In
The Liberals in Australia and Amanda Vanstone's websites are under attack from cyber activists. In solidarity with hunger strikers on Nauru, cyber activists are staging a 'virtual sit in' creating a traffic jam through repeated visits to the above web sites - you can take part by downloading these files and support the urgent pleas for freedom.
Freedom From Nauru - Electronic Sit-In
Author: anonymous (Freedom From Nauru)
The Nauru hunger strike started with 25 people on December 10th - their one demand : Freedom Or Death.
Now with 45 participants, many of whom have sewn their lips shut, the hunger strike still receives minimal attention from the department of immigration who as recently as the 1st of December sent Afghanis back to Afghanistan. Up to 10 of those 23 Afghanis are now confirmed dead.
The hunger strikers have become desperate with no end in sight for their detention, which in many cases has lasted for 2 years on Nauru. They have given up hoping for a free life and have decided to take their own lives in protest against the racist immigration policies of the Australian government as run by the Liberals.
The hunger strike on Nauru is now entering its fourth week, four of the refugees taking part have said they expect to die as they have reached such a weakened state.
The hunger strikers situation is desperate, this is a call to action.
In solidarity with the 45 hunger strikers, we aim to shut down the websites for both the liberal party and Amanda Vanstone's immigration department. You too can take part and add your voice to the hungers strikers demand for freedom.
The electronic sit-in starts on monday, january 5th morning at 9am, Australian East Coast time. At that time go to http://www.geocities.com/freedom_from_nauru/ and join the solidarity website occupation or alternatively, download the zip file from Freedom From Nauru or from your local indymedia newswire that contains all the files you will need to join the sit-in.
The electronic sit-in will continue until hope is restored to the hunger strikers and they decide to eat again. There can be no business as usual whilst innocent people are starving to death at the hands of Australian government policy.
